In 2001 the UAB DEGESA participated in the
competition and won the support for tourism development from Phare Program of the European
Union. Today various tourism and recreation services are rendered at the boat rent station
located in Bikėnai village, Zarasai region (the 4th kilometre of the road
Degučiai-Salakas) on the picturesque bank of the River Šventoji where it flows into the
Lake of Antalieptė. Here you can rent boats, kayaks, windsurfers, yachts, water and land
bicycles, small tourism implements (axes, pots, tents, etc.). Right here you will get the
place for your car parking or/and tent pitching, you will be supplied with firewood. Those
who wish can refresh themselves with cold beer, fruit drinks or ice-cream. Those who make
a reservation in advance will be lodged in small houses on the bank of the lake or in
guest-house.
